Si Se Puede

1/ Cesar Chavez was a citizen in Arizona and he's from his family's farm in Yuma. Also he was born in March 31, 1927.

2/ When Cesar was 10 year's old, him and his family became migrant farm workers after losing their farm in the Great Depression.

3/ Cesar Chavez attended more than 30 elementary and middle school. After the 8th grade, he'd drop out because he wanted to work full time. He wanted to support his family. Cesar soon later joined the US Navy in 1946.

4/ CSO stands for (Community Service Organization) Chavez rapidly developed as an organizer, soon became the president of CSO. When the organization turned down for the request to organize farmworkers in 1962. Soon later Chavez resigned and returned to Delano.

5/ They all had in common is that they all boycott. They believe would do it in a non-violently way of boycotting. Cesar would get volunteers and pay $5 dollars for room and board a week. He wanted to help the farmworkers by not letting people buy grapes so that the farmers won't get any money.

6/ The poeple that were braceros were Mexicans and Filipinos. They were the poeple that was extra people that wanted to work for money at any cost and would any job.

7/ The Mexicans and Filipinos were there to get equal rights too, also they wanted better wages and better working conditions. In August 1965, an indepenent walkout for grape workers in Delano.

8/ UFWA stands for union of (United Farm Workers Association) with the help of 1,000 poeple. They boycott against all the grape companies in the Delano area. No it was not successful. But Chavez organized a march to California inspire farm workers to join the Union.

9/ The Grandpa did mention about Martin Luther King Jr. about "I have a dreamed with him as I cleared out a field." Cesar gave hope to them also he'd let them know that they should be proud of there work. And everyone could have justice like all other people.

10/ "All the students will celebrate his birthday tomorrow in school." Also Remembering March 31 is also celebrating it as long you don't forget it.

11/ It is a hoe that was only twenty-four inches long. It makes the workers bend there backs all day long also it makes them have back injuries for the rest of there life. It was outlaw went El Cortito and the CRLA attorneys began a 7 year long battle to get rid of that tool.

12/ The legacy that Cesar Chavez leave behind was hope for everyone. March 31 is Cesar Chavez birthday and a day to remember that everyone has equal rights.

13/ "A symbol is an important thing. That is why we chose an Aztec eagle. It gives pride...When people see it they know it means dignity." To me it means if they see someone working hard they would want to work as twice more. Also they don't want to give up even if the work sucks they would want to always try there best for the better out come just like me most of the time.

14/ "Determination and Acceptance" Those 2 words I value the most because it is who I am. I have determination to go to UC Berkeley and No one is going to stop me from doing my best. I would do all my teachers work so hard that even in my sleep all I would do is study. I pick "acceptance" also because I accept myself for who I am. I know that I might not be the smartest, tallest person or the most good looking guy(which I am) but I am willing to improve myself for the better of my future.

"Mercy" Killing?

1. Reflecting on Of Mice and Men

A. George thought that Lennie couldn't be taken care of anymore. Because killing a puppy was one thing but now he'd killed a woman. George did his best, but there was No other way to help Lennie out of his mess.
B. Well I'm not sure what was the best thing to do for Lennie but George shooting Lennie in the head was wrong. I know that George had good reasons but why? In the movie, I never saw George asking for help for what's best for Lennie! But know I guess that there was No help for the mentally disable back then. George knew that there was no way that Lennie wouldn't survive on his own and George did try his best.

2. Father in Italy Accused of Murder

A. The Father was under investigation for the murder of the his daughter. He allowed his Daughter's feeding tubes to be removed from not waking - up anymore. I guess the Father knew that his Daughter is never going to wake up even after waiting for 17 years. He thinks the best way was to let her it go.
B. I agree that the fahter should remove the feeding tubes. Because her Daughter is in the vegetative state for 17 years. My guess is that she is never going to wake up from her accident. It's been 17 year's the Father maybe wanted to let her Daughter move on and except the fact she is never going to wake up.

3. Man Kills Family after Losing his Job

A. -How do I feed my family?
-Would I ever find another job?
-Why was I Born?
-Is this the right thing to do by killing my family?
B. Families should put their kids into schools to learn.
If a family doesn't have money or doesn't make that much to pay for college's there always scholarships and financial Aid for free that would help you succed in life.

4.Your opinions on "Mercy" Killing?

Well I think on my view in euthanasia that it's wrong. But in "Of Mice and Men" and those 2 articles is that they all have different reasons about euthanasia. Lennie didn't knew what was right and wrong. He's mentally disable and has a minded of an 8-year old of course he would love soft things, he would fight for it just like any other kid would. George shot him because there was No help what so ever out there. People didn't knew that he was a mentally person. The woker thought he was just a murder. The first article, the Father was not really a murder for his daughter, he just wanted whats best for her. I guess he knew that she would never wake up even after 17 years of waiting even if she woke up she'd wouldn't be the same. Maybe she would become mentally disable just like "Lennie Smalls." In the last article the family never asked for help. They never looked on the brighter side of life. To me thats sounds like suicide and the Father and Mother wanted to take the cowards way out by killing themselfs. Everyone has problems in life and not just only them some poeple might or is going thought the same problems but they don't have to kill themselfs just for losing a job. You just have to face the facts of life because No one said that life is going to be easy, problems happen everyday. What do you think???

*Of Mice and Men*

1 Well it was a good thing that George encourage lennie stand up for himself. If Lennie didn't fight Curley; Curley would still pick a fight with him. It was like a life lesson Curley; that you shouldn't pick on someone that isn't your size. Because someone might get hurt and it's Curley.

2 Well it's sounds true but not really. He wants to stay with George no matter what. George needs lennie and lennie needs George. Lennie does all the heavy work and George got the brains they both make a good team. Lennie is the strongest guy at there work place he would never break a sweat carry tons of bags. No matter where Lennie goes George would always be there to support him all the way.

3 (Ha ha ha:) I don't think so that he won't get any respect at all. Because he still living with daddy and he marry a cheating wife. No one would respect that. Only if your kind and willing to help others instead of being aggressive maybe you would get a little respeat back.

4 I don't think so it's wrong and it would sucks for Curley. But it's Curleys problem for marry a cheating wife and all. Curley's wife can't help flirting Slim and other people thats who she is. I think thats how Curley met his wife.
